After discovering several huge pieces of broken mirror in the basement of my new house a few years ago, I started studying mosaic art, to learn how to do something useful with it. There is no shortage of discarded tile and mirror on the streets of Philadelphia, so I am amply supplied with material.

Not a true fractal, but fractal-esque. The mirror reflects the tile and reflections of tile in other mirror, as well as reflecting the viewer, in reverse.

I've done a lot of flowerpots. Working on a curved surface presents unique challenges, but at least the final product has some utility.

I added flourescent pigments to the grout, and found a coffee cup that had a flourescent glaze, which, luckily, I broke. The tile and grout glows strongly under UV light.

I've made a lot of these handmade drums. I mostly do mosaic now. Secondhand tile is a lot easier to come by than cherry and African rosewood. (These make the best drums.)
